Research approach
A market size is a claim about the world, and a claim is only as good as the route to it. Every study is built upward from units and prices — what is actually produced, sold or performed, at what it actually changes hands for — rather than from a headline figure divided downwards. Disclosed company revenue is then used to check that build, not to produce it.
Market value was built by combining bottom-up analysis of tower units and steel tonnage shipped against announced transmission-line route lengths and voltage-class specifications, with top-down modelling of utility and grid-operator capital expenditure on transmission infrastructure. Unit volumes were derived from national grid expansion and interconnection project pipelines, converted to revenue using per-tower and per-kilometre cost benchmarks by voltage class and structure type. This was reconciled against transmission capex allocated by utilities and grid operators in their public capital plans, adjusted for the share spent on towers and structures rather than conductors, substations or cabling. Where the two tracks diverged, the volume-based estimate was weighted more heavily for near-term years and the expenditure-based estimate for outer forecast years.
The four stages
The same sequence runs behind every published study, whatever the industry. The order matters as much as the steps: the segment axes are fixed before any number is collected, so the model is never reshaped to fit whatever data happens to turn up.
What the build rests on, and what checks it
